Customer Warns About Psychics

11/05/2009 -- Halloween is over, but it's always the season for psychics.

An unidentified woman contacted the KSAT 12 Defenders to complain about a psychic she claimed just wanted her money.

"I had to pay quite a bit of money up front," she said. "I paid her $100."

The woman said she went to a home on the city's Northwest Side and said that a psychic wanted money for cleansing, balancing, prayers and candles.

"$800 was for one candle, but I really needed two," the woman said of the psychic's request.

The Defenders sent a hidden camera to the home to investigate, but they were greeted by a different psychic.

The Defenders also called a number listed on the psychic's Web site and also sent an e-mail, but didn't get any responses.

The Defenders also knocked on the psychic's door, but no one answered.

The complaint about the psychic isn't a first for the Defenders.

Four years ago, psychic Jennifer Nicole Evans was convicted in a Bexar County court of stealing more than $200,000 from her clients.

Evans was sentenced to 12 years in prison, but she appealed and the conviction was overturned.
